Despite the horrible life she lived prior to being rescued by the USDA and retired to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee in November 2003.  She has been in quarantine until recently and now lives happy and free in Tennessee!  Delhi has a wonderful playful spirit and her sculpture shows her playing with one of her beloved balls.  Delhi was not allowed to have toys until she retired, or lay down as she was constantly chained in a windowless barn owned by Cuneo, with 15 other eles for most of her 57 year life.  Cuneo owner of Hawthorn corp. was ordered to surrender his collection of 16 elephants by the USDA in March as the result of his longstanding abuse of these poor animals.  See http://www.elephants.com/delhi/delhi_diary.htm  for Delhi's story.

Please help the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee to build a barn to house more of the surrendered elephants at
